3.2. To-do Lists for GUI Translation

There are two possiblities for finding out which programs haven't been translated yet:

To find out which already-translated programs still need revision, there are the so-called "Highscore lists", available in both text and HTML formats, whereas the HTML version offers direct links to the specific languages and the PO files themselves.

Output of the text version typically looks like this:

   de:
       kdelnk: 4 fuzzy
       kexpress: 1 fuzzy
       killustrator: 5 fuzzy
       klyx: 1 fuzzy
       kmail: 1 untranslated
       kohtml: 1 fuzzy 3 untranslated
       kticker: 5 untranslated
       ktop: 3 fuzzy 1 untranslated
       webmaker: 1 fuzzy 9 untranslated

"Fuzzy" is like a kind of question mark for the translations. These are sections which have been marked by an automatic checking routine (in msgmerge) as "suspicious" which means something to the effect of: "Please check this translation again".

Note: Completely untranslated programs do not appear in the Highscore list; that's what the i18n-table is for.

The most important step before beginning the actual translation is: Asking the coordinator whether a program is "free", i.e. that it's not being worked on by someone else, or that the program is not being rewritten or replaced by another one. Otherwise, you end up doing a lot of useless work.
